1979 Contessa 28 - 8.5m fin keeled sloop for sale. I am selling my eminently seaworthy Doug Peterson designed Contessa from the Jeremy Rogers stable. She would suit a couple and is ideal for coastal exploring. I am a Poole based solo sailor and she is very easily handled single or short handed. The honest and only reason for sail is that I am looking for another slightly larger boat to accommodate my small family. If you know the Contessa name, then you will no doubt be aware of their reputation as a very safe and solid boat with a good turn of speed and good performance on all points of sailing. Encapsulated, fin keel with 1.5m draught provides nimble handling with good upwind capability. Swenn is an honest boat. regularly used by myself and small crew for exploring the coastal waters of south UK and can be viewed and sailed at short notice locally to Poole. I am an aircraft engineer and have carried out all maintenance - engine, electric, rigging and mechanical myself periodically and as required. Swenn is due to be lifted for the usual inspection, antifoam, anodes, hull polish/wax etc in early October and upon arrangement can be viewed/surveyed out of water and test sailed once back in. Full deeds of ownership available. Tax paid. SSR registered. Absolutely invaluable are the mast steps which if you have not had them, you will understand! Equipment listed below, but viewing/trial sail recommended. respectable offers considered.
