Description
A 17ft (5.18m) plywood Shearwater sea kayak for sale.
The kayak was built in 2017 from Fyne Boats plans but only went into the water once for sea trials and has since been kept in dry storage. The kayak has a spray deck, conical buoyancy bags for each end and J cradles for fitting to car roof bars. The bottom of the kayak has been clear epoxy coated for scratch resistance.

Construction
The kayaks were made from 4mm marine ply from the Fyne Boats plans. The panels were joined using the stitch and tape method using West epoxy resin and woven glass tape. The plywood was subsequently sealed with International Wood Sealer (2 pack) and overcoated with Schooner Gold varnish. The bottom of each kayak has been coated with clear epoxy to increase the scratch protection.
